F.R.I.E.N.D.S

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

A few minutes ago, I watched the last episode of 10th season of Friends. An era has come to an end. I truly believe that whenever these seven alphabets will be written in caps with a period separating them, it will boil down to this single magnum opus. I can still feel my veins full of blood, my cheekbones warm with adrenaline rush, my heart pounding and my emotions overwhelmed. Initially, I used to scoff at my friends when they used to tell me about how good this serial was. Now when this serial has exalted from a mere sitcom to an addiction, I could do nothing but laugh at my stupidity. My mind was quite preoccupied with undisputed grey matter of Michael Scofield and super human capabilities of Jack Bauer. But now after watching Friends, who says that being dumb isn't cool enough and who says that being exacting & neat-freak is creepy ?? :-P It felt that each and every character was crafted with great scrupulousness. Sarcasm has never been so titillating; neither do a “weirdo gal” and a “science guy” roaming around, doing their antics and making stomachs burst and eyes watery out of laughter.

The best part of the serial is that it makes you feel very comfortable. It connects with you instantly and leaves with you a feeling – “yeah, this is what friends do”. We kick their asses, make the weirdest joke on them but stick close enough to lend a helping hand in need whatsoever the situation is. Kudos to its creators for coming up with such a great sitcom and in addition to that, maintaining its novelty in every single episode for 10 long years.

Amidst all the vicissitudes of life, it’s only the true friendship that stays constant. Sometimes it is more comforting to look up to our friends for help that anyone else in this world. Sometimes there are feelings we can share only with a few hearts, cry only on a few shoulders, do bitching only with a few pursing lips, stroll & stalk with only a few indefatigable legs and do outlandish stuffs with only a few crazy bastards. That’s friendship. TV would never be same after Friends. Thanks a ton guys for helping me understand friendship.
