All good things come to an end

Yesterday we had our first job party. It was dedicated to Abhishek , Himani and yeah me. The party was super-awesome, the food was lip-smacking (forget the veggies, it was pathetic for them :-P), the ambience was convivial and yeah, some old grievances were rested in peace too. I hogged each and every chicken and mutton I was served. The glutton inside me was at his devil best. To hell with the PETA, I can proudly say we guys are the best non-vegetarians in this world and will continue to be. In words of Anshu, we have a special empty space in our stomach reserved just for chicken :-P. Everyone was playing pranks on me but thereafter Himani carried the baton. The wealth of Hotel Radisson would have gone four-fold owing to the merry pearls of our laughter spread there. We were just living the moment.

It was yesterday after a long time I felt that time is running away from my hand. Just a few more parties, just a few more hangouts, just a few more stalking gals, just a few more toasts at LC, just a few more night outs at ghats and that’s it. And then I will be plodding between office and home. I don’t know what’s the working culture of Microsoft is but I am pretty confident that it will be of no match of the aura that these morons around me create, the dynamism they infuse and the liveliness they bring forth. I may be earning in six figures but I will be missing the penurious life-style of college where anyone with a 500 note in his wallet is the king of the moment. I know, my eyes will twinkle in synthetic illuminations of corporate world but I will be missing the somber lobby of my hostel. Probably I may be coerced to have borrowed mannerisms and highly exacerbated etiquette but I will be missing these flurry of abuses bestowed upon me by my friends, these protracted drinking sessions, the farcical after-effects and the mind-blowing hangovers.

But yes all good thing comes to an end. So this would too. I just wish that these faces don’t get lost in the disciplined concrete jungles we are about to encounter in our road to success. And pray that we always remain the same as we are now – kaminey :-P
